Let’s start with what I’m not:

  • I’m not an obsessive runner
  • I’m certainly not an elite athlete…
  • So no sponsorship comes my way
  • Oh, and I don’t have a lot of spare time to train

I am, however, hugely passionate about fitness and, gulp, eating healthily, but I do find that a challenge sometimes.

I thrive on the endorphins of a good workout.

I’m not a novice to ultra running. The furthest I’ve run is 100km in 2017 and I’ve got three 40-50 mile races to my name.

I am a member of a great local running club and have started helping the other members now I have an English Athletics Coaching Assistant badge to my name.

I love training early in the mornings – my alarm goes off at 5.00am and I head downstairs for a workout or head out for a run. It’s a part of the day very few people are up to see.

I have two lively and demanding young children, and an incredible wife. They like to spend time with me (at least I think they do) and I like to spend time with them, so training needs to fit around family time.

Who am I?

Just call me “Ad”. At this point in my blogging career I plan to leave an air of mystery to anyone in the wider world. But, my name is important as it helped to inspire the site name.
